This battery pack functions like Nintendo's original battery pack/AC adaptor, in that you plug the battery pack into the wall, change it, and then attach the battery pack via a phone type plug into the AC adaptor jack on the GB Pocket, as opposed to plugging into the battery bay of the Game Boy itself like the Battery Clip).
