NES/Famicom Light Guns |
Light gun games were never all that popular among NES gamers, and there were only a few light gun games made. Despite this, there is no shortage of different light guns that were released for the NES/FC (and there is even more and more unique guns made for pirate NES/FC consoles!) Here we present the assortment of light guns available.

| Everyone knows about this one, it is
Nintendo's own light gun, which came with most NES sets sold early on. This comes in 2
variants, a white and grey color scheme, and a bright orange and white color scheme, the
grey and white scheme is probably a bit rarer, but not much, both are common as dirt and
can be had for about $3 or less. The model with the grey scheme was released first, then
the orange scheme came later. Both grey and oranges schemes were released in the US,
but from what I have been told, only the orange scheme gun was released in Europe. Can
anyove verify this? The Japanese Famicom model was quite different from its NES
counterpart, which you can see below. |

| I used to own one of these, but I can't
remember much about it, other than its red and dark blue color scheme, I can't even
remember the proper title (anyone know it?) BTW, do I have the title of the accessory correct? Anyone know? |

| This is a neat discovery I made on eBay one
day, a second infared light gun which is known to exist. And this one is licensed, though
it looks like one of those guns that comes with pirate NES/FC consoles. Check out that
scope on the gun! Neat stuff! This must be very rare, I never even heard of this until
now. Anyone know more? Info and pic ripped from eBay |

| This is one of the silliest devices ever
released for the NES. It is, essencially, a light gun you wear on your head, and activate
with your voice. There is a sight on the gun where you target your onscreen enemy, and you
say "fire" to shoot into the attached "Madonna's Mike" positioned just
in front of your mouth. While this sounds like a neat idea, like so many NES accessories
geared around "poor man's virtual reality", this falls very short. The accuracy
is not very good, and the whole concept just doesn't work well. One game was made
especialy for the scope, "Laser Invasion", though the game can be played with
any light gun. It was released in the US, and Japan, but I don't think it was released in
Europe. Pic ripped from eBay |
