"Party Room 21 Controller" may not be the correct title for this accessory. If anyone knows the correct title, please let me know.

Here in the US, we got a fair number of specialty, often gimmicky controllers, which only worked with a small handfull of games (such as the Power Pad), and a few only ended up working with one or two games (R.O.B. and the Arkanoid controller come to mind). Japanese FC gamers, however, got even more of these specialized controllers than we did in the US.

The controller is, essencially, a quiz show buzzer system for up to six players simultaneously. Each player has their own buzzer with one button (the "buzzer") on it. It plugs into the expansion port on the Famicom (as do most Famicom accessories), so I assume controller one is used to start the game, make selections etc.

Appropriately, the game for which this was intended for is a Japanese quiz show type game, Gimmi a Break -Shijou Saikyou no Quiz Ou Ketteisen. I can't say much about the game itself, it is totally in Japanese, and you would need to be well versed in Japanese, as well as, I assume, Japanese popular culture circa 1991. I assume it is a "lightweight" quiz show (such as "Win Lose or Draw"), incorporating the traditional "ring in" style of quiz show (such as "Jeopardy!"). The game and device are rather unqiue in the NES/FC world, as these allow 6 players to participate simultaneously, something that no other device allows (for what it is worth anyways). Party Room 21 made a few other games, this may be compatible with those as well, but is currently unknown.

As of right now, no tech information is available on this device, and as far as I know, it hasn't even been attempted yet. As information becomes available, it will be posted here.
