Probably PAL

Thailand

This clone is called "New Home Computer", a pirate clone made in Thailand. It's probably a PAL version, according to the person who contibuted this information, since he coudl not get it to work on a US TV. It takes 60 pin FC carts, has SNES style joypas with Atari 2600 style plugs, Zapper clone and what appears to the the FC expansion port (!) on the front. Note how the joypads nest horozontally right on the unit, which is kinda cool (the joypads on the real FC and many clones nest vertically on the sides). The second picture is blurry, but hopefully you can make some words out. The bottom label says:" New Home Computer" (the name of the system), "Charn Issara Tower" (supposedely where the system was made), and I can barely make out the last line: "Bilon 8KK (10500) Thailand". (Maybe this is the address, I dont know). But I dont know what it says on the first line. Plus, on the first pic, all I see in the system is '8Bit' located at the top right of the system, I dont know what it says at the center of the system (can someone translate this?). It's very big than most usual clones, and kinda resembles a cross between a Playstation and a Doctor V64 unit.

Unlike most pirates, these guys had the guts to actually put Nintendo's name on their console (not a good idea if you want to export and get it through customs without suspicion). This is obviously not a Nintendo product, of course. Your average FC clone, except... WOW, look at that gun! If that doesn't look like a real piece, I don't know what does.

PAL and NTSC avail

Here we have a neat pirate system, the Power Player. Nicely packaged in original packaging, very rare among pirate consoles, with a nice system design as well. This is another one of those N64 controller pirate consoles, but this one includes a spiffy extra controller (which looks like a higher-end SNES controller), and a light gun, and man just look at that gun! That definately looks like a real 22! In addition to all this, it comes with 76 built-in games, at least it claims it does. You can see a list of games above, complete with the common misspellings of frequently pirated FC games.

Recently, a contributor sent in some more information about this unit, as well as some scans of his unit and the box it came in, which look a bit different from this one. His is also NTSC, so therefore this unit was available in both (but not capable of both in one unit). You can see the scans above under "NTSC scans". Here is the information he sent in:

It is NTSC format, has both RF and RCA out (the RF unit requires a connector somewhat similar to a PS/2 connector, the secondary gun and gamepad are both 9 pin Atari style. It does have a Famicom cartridge connector on the back (pictured). The power supply is standard US and it can also uses 4 AA batteries that pop out of where the memory card would go on an N64. It really does come with about 76 real games, the box however says 76000, but i could not tell any difference between the ones I tried.

This appeared briefly on eBay and I could kick myself for not grabbing the info while I could. I normally don't list pirate stuff unless I have at least a pic but this clone was so cool I just had to mention it! This clone looks *identical* to a PlayStation, with even the PSX logo! Just imagine a PlayStation, slightly darker in color, with "PolyStation" instead of "PlayStation", and 2 slots on top (60 and 72 pin) and you then know what it looks like, including the controllers! I think it came with a light gun as well.

Europe?

Sometimes I have to seriously wonder if those outside the US and Japan who buy these units really don't know some of these units are pirates. I mean, just look at the box (see above) this thing came in, I mean, good grief! It looks like the logo was drawn by a 7 year old, and the box itself looks like the same kind you'd buy a cake in. This whole thing is poorly done, except the black scorpion logo on the box, which is kinda cool (but even that isn't that well done). Your typical FC style pirate, in black. Blah. The owner of this tells me that the eject lever doesn't work well, and the whole unit is cheap and poorly made (not a surprise). Comes with 2 detachable controllers, which look just like FC controllers, complete with turbo buttons. One thing which is unique to this unit, is that it comes with a pirate Pac-Man cart, in a blister package with the silly Scorpion 8 packaging. It also comes with a pirate Rainbow Islands cart, which you can see in the pic to the left.

This unit is very similar (obviously) to the Super Com 72 below, except that it is 60 pins (FC) compatible, has a power LED, and from what |tsr wrote, this does not have any built-in games; he did mention it came with a 6000000 in 1 cart with Street Fighter II V.6D, Batman Flash and a few of the older 32k games (anyone have a picture of this cart?). |tsr noted that this unit also has no metal RF shield inside, so it is lighter than one would expect. Comes with an RF switch, European AC adaptor, Zapper clone, and two controllers which look like SNES controllers (with two turbo buttons and Atari style plugs). Also has the 15 pin FC expansion port in front. Not much else noteworthy about the unit, but be sure to check out the box! The box back has no pictures of NES/FC games, but instead SNES, Genesis, and even 3DO games! Well, so much for truth in pirate advertising. Also of note is the "60 day guaranty" printed on the box, since there is no manufacturer name, address,or phone number anywhere on the box or unit.

Wow, a SNES-style console with a million games built-in! Well, not exactly. Here is the specifics of this console:
- it has two Nintendo NES controller slots at the front
- it has a normal 8Bit (NES) game slot (top loading)
- the eject lever is in red transparent plastic
- it plays European NES games and gives out a stable PAL
  video signal
- it has five built-in games; Super Mario Brothers (worlds
1 to 4 only), Wild Gunman, Galaxian, Bomberman and Duck
Hunt; the "one million game built in" just repeats every
single one of the 5 games 200000 times!
- it has no power LED
- the chips inside only mark numbers, there's no Nintendo
  sign either
- it requires an AC power adaptor (9 V, 850 mAh), has
Video and Audio and RF outputs (chinch)
- height: 7 cm, length: 21 cm, width: 16 cm
- the title screen of SMB is hacked (no copyright), the
  music is much too
slow, and the jumping and firing noises are odd
- comes with cloe zapper and controller (just like Super Com
  60)

The guy who owns this called it "Power Player All In One", whether this was the name it was sold under I don't know. Therefore, I decided to go by the same on the unit itself, "Super Joystick TV Game". This is another one of those Famicom-in-an-N64-controller units. This one has a cartridge slot on the bottom which accepts 60 pin (I assume) FC cartridges. Comes with a light gun which looks like a real 22, and a 60 in 1 or a 61 in 1 cartridge, I don't know which, as I didn't completely understand what the owner of this was saying. Included in this cart is seven light gun games, for use with the light gun. Uses a 6V DC power supply, and can hook up to a TV using composite video or RF cables. And, is both NTSC and PAL compatible.

This is another NES/FC clones in an all-in-1 controller unit. The controller body of the unit looks like one of those cheap unlicensed controllers you can find for the NES, not as cool as the clones in N64 controllers, but still pretty nifty. Note the "Yesterday" declaration, with a pirate console (the Super Computer 60, to be specific) "X"ed out. I guess we can assume it has nearly identical hardware to the SC60 inside? And like most of these types of clones, this has built in games (28), and does not take cartridges. This controller is plug and play (though I think this is a bit of an abuse of the term), just hook it up to your TV and play.

Here we have another famicom clone, this one looks more like a Super Famicom than a regular Famicom. Comes with A/V cables, 9v AC adaptor, 2 controllers and a Zapper type gun (see "accessories" above". Anyone know if this is PAL or NTSC? I am not sure if this unit is "wireless" and has an antenna, above there is a link to an identical unit with such an antenna. Anyone know if it comes in both wired and wireless varieties?

Here's a unique one! This system is designed to look like an N-64, and, in fact, the box (which I don't have a scan of) proclaimed it to be a "Super N-64 gaming system" with 3-D graphics and stereo sound. In reality, it's a Famicom clone. It comes with two funky 6-button swivel-action controllers (pictured) and a light gun; a what a light gun it is!!! A bit overkill for playing Duck Hunt, I think :) This is a PAL unit, but you can pick up a decent signal on several US TV channels, and it also has audio/video outs, which works (but gave me a black and white image??). Because it was originally sold overseas, the AC adapter was not compatible with US power outlets. It's a standard 9 volt NEGATIVE tip (I think this is the same as
a US-spec NES).

This is an all-in-one NES unit in an N64 style controller, just like the Super Gun, with funky 80s neon stying. Like the Super Gun, this takes no cartridges, it only plays the built in games (a games list is to come soon). Takes 4 AA batteries, which you put into a batter cartridge, which slides into the controller just like an N64 memory card! Why they did this, I have no idea, especially since the unit can also be powered with a 6V AC adaptor. Has A/V RCA outputs, and puts out an NTSC signal

PAL and NTSC?

Asia

Bar none, one of the coolest NES/FC clones ever, this is a portable unit and only one of two portables known. It has a color backlit LCD, and runs on 6 AA batteries, which last about 1.5 hours (which kinda sucks). Not only is this a portable Famicom (you can play yoour NES games with any NES-to-FC adaptor), but you can hook it up to a TV via a special wireless broadcast unit (which also makes any TV around display your game as well, so use carefully and hope the FCC isn't around :) You can hook up 2 controllers, and has the Famicom expansion port for attaching Famicom accessories! Desipe a rumor, this was *not* made by Innovation, I mean look at the box scan, it is clearly an asian pirate item. Don't expect to find one of these, or at least a cheap one, they say only 1000 of these were made, by hand! If you do manage to get your hands on one, you will certainly be more than pleased with it!
