These games are among the weirdest to ever come out for the SNES. All these games were officially licensed by Nintendo, and in fact, had a glowing endorsement. Not much has been written about these games. They are, from reports I have heard, among the lamest games you could play. I understand the good intentions behind them and all, such as teaching diabetic children how to take their insulin and stuff. But, as games, at best, they have novelty value, and offer little else. Ignorant Bliss, Jimmy-rion@utulsa.edu, told me that Rex Ronan was available at retail; it makes sense, since its purpose is to warn everyody about the dangers of smoking, and is not tied to a health concern relevant only to certain individuals. I have also been told some of the games came with a type of sign-out sheet attached to them; I presume these may have been lended out by clinics to kids.
The unanswered questions are: were the rest of these games offered for sale at retail, or were they only available directly from Raya Systems? And, are there plans for future Raya systems games for the SNES or N64? Does anyone out there actually own one of these games? If you do, or have any other firsthand info about them, email me.
It turns out Raya Systems have changed their name, and are now know as the Health Hero Network. They have a website where you can get more info about all their games, for the SNES and other platforms, and order them. Their games sell for $69.95 each, which is pretty steep considering what they are.
